University Industry Linkage Directorate (UILD)
Introduction
The University–Industry Linkage Directorate (UILD) serves as a coordination and facilitation platform that connects our University with industries, government institutions, and other stakeholders. It promotes structured collaboration to enhance practical learning, institutional relevance, and stakeholder engagement.

A leading center of excellence in university–industry collaboration and consultancy, supporting Adigrat University’s transformation into a research university by 2030 E.C.
3. Mission
- To establish and maintain institutional partnerships with industries and stakeholders
- To coordinate student internship and staff externship programs
- To facilitate stakeholder engagement and collaboration platforms
- To enhance alignment between academic training and industry practices
4. Core Roles and Responsibilities
4.1 Partnership Development and Management
- Initiate, facilitate, and manage partnerships with industries and institutions
- Coordinate preparation and implementation of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs)
- Maintain an updated database of partner organizations
4.2 Internship Program Coordination
- Plan, organize, and monitor student internship programs
- Facilitate placement of students in relevant industries
- Ensure quality, relevance, and proper supervision of internships
- Coordinate evaluation and feedback mechanisms
4.3 Externship Program Coordination (Staff Engagement)
- Facilitate staff placement in industries for practical exposure
- Coordinate externship application, selection, and evaluation processes
- Promote practice-oriented teaching through staff industry engagement
4.4 Stakeholder Engagement and Linkage Forums
- Organize university–industry linkage forums.
- Facilitate dialogue between academia, industry, and other stakeholders
- Support joint planning and collaboration projects
4.5 Coordination and Liaison Role
- Serve as the official communication channel between the university and industry
- Coordinate UIL activities across colleges and departments
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of linkage activities
4.6 Coordination of consultancy and external service projects
- Serve as the entry point for external organizations requesting professional services from the university
- Facilitate the identification and mobilization of qualified academic experts from relevant departments
- Coordinate the preparation of agreements, terms of reference, and project frameworks
- Ensure effective communication and follow-up between the university and client institutions
- Monitor overall project progress at coordination level and support timely delivery
