Department of Economics

Adigrat University’s Economics Department is a notable department that has existed from the university’s inception. Since its inception, it has actively offered academic courses in several enrollment programs at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Beyond teaching and learning, the department is a renowned field of research and community service programs aimed at addressing society’s economic barriers and improving socioeconomic status. Furthermore, the department conducts research skill development training for the university community and other public institutions in the thematic area.

The Department of Economics aims to produce competent graduates and internationally recognized researchers who excel in economic analysis, policy formulation, and applied research. Faculty and students are committed to quality teaching, impactful studies on Ethiopia’s development challenges, and community service that strengthens economic literacy and decision-making at local and national levels.
