CBE, Educational Standards and Quality Assurance Office
The Educational Standards and Quality Assurance Office of the College of Business and Economics (CBE) at Adigrat University is a core academic and administrative unit responsible for ensuring excellence in teaching, learning, research, and community engagement. The office plays a vital role in upholding the university’s commitment to quality education and continuous improvement.
It works collaboratively with departments, academic staff, students, and other stakeholders to implement institutional policies, monitor academic standards, evaluate performance, and foster a culture of quality across all programs within the college. The office ensures that all educational activities align with the FDRE Education and Training Authority (ETA) standards and the Ministry of Education (MoE) guidelines for quality assurance and accreditation.
Vision
To be a center of excellence in educational quality assurance, ensuring that all programs of the College of Business and Economics meet national and international standards, and contribute to the production of competent, ethical, and socially responsible graduates who can address local and global challenges.

- Promote a culture of quality and accountability in teaching, learning, and research.
- Develop and implement comprehensive quality assurance frameworks in alignment with national and international standards.
- Facilitate continuous improvement in academic programs through systematic evaluation, monitoring, and feedback mechanisms.
- Support academic departments in curriculum design, review, and accreditation processes.
- Conduct regular quality audits, tracer studies, and stakeholder feedback surveys to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
- Build the capacity of academic and administrative staff through training and professional development.
- Ensure that the college’s academic programs contribute to community development, social transformation, and sustainable national growth.

Quality Management and Assurance Strategy
- As a fundamental pathway, the CBE’S quality assurance strategy underlines strict compliance with at least the minimum standards and principles set by the FDRE Education and Training Authority (ETA) in order to achieve high quality in teaching and scientific works.
- Its quality assurance methods are evidence-based, where outcomes and feedback from stakeholders (including students, staff, employers and alumni) will provide the basis for analyses and conclusions on which improvements are planned.
- The internal quality assurance is focused on, guiding and controlling members of the college community and the operation systems to strictly comply with the standards, regulations, legislations and operational and performance frameworks of the university while also continuously empowering the college community to develop a culture of quality.
- Delivering high quality products and services is not a choice but a survival issue to outcompete and satisfy the dynamic needs and aspiration of customers and stakeholders and exert high impact on the overall societal development of the country and beyond.
