Department of Management

The Management Program at Adigrat University has played a foundational role in the academic offerings of the institution since its establishment. Initially launched in 2004 under the College of Business and Economics, the program began as the Department of Management, enrolling undergraduate students in both regular and extension programs to address the increasing regional and national demand for skilled professionals in business and administrative disciplines. During its early years, the program operated under a three-year degree structure, enabling students to complete their undergraduate studies within three academic years – a structure that remained in place until 2019. Over time, the program experienced growing demand from students across various regions, prompting the expansion of its delivery modalities. In addition to the regular program at the Adigrat main campus, the Department of Management introduced weekend and summer programs, extending its services to a broader audience, including working professionals. Now, the Management Program stands as one of the most in-demand and well-established academic units within the College of Business and Economics. It has successfully graduated a large number of qualified professionals who are actively contributing to Ethiopia’s economic, governmental, and social institutions. Through its commitment to academic excellence, practical competence, and ethical leadership, the department continues to play a critical role in meeting the labor market needs and supporting the university’s broader mission of education, research, and community service delivery. 1.5.
