Adigrat University Celebrates World Environment Day.

Adigrat University celebrated World Environment Day through a program organized by the Department of Environmental Science under the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. The event brought together university leaders, invited guests from the zone and various districts, academic staff, and environmental experts.

The program was officially opened by Associate Professor Niguse Gebru, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. In his welcoming remarks, he emphasized the importance of collective action among all stakeholders to ensure a healthy and sustainable environment for present and future generations.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Gebremikael Woldegabriel, President of Adigrat University, highlighted the critical role of a clean environment and healthy air quality in safeguarding the well-being of both current and future generations. He noted that universities have a responsibility to generate research-based solutions to address environmental challenges and climate change. He further reaffirmed the university’s commitment to supporting initiatives and research activities aimed at environmental protection and sustainable development.
